“Life doesn’t always end with death, sometimes it ends with a marriage.”
You are cordially invited to the wedding of Kimberly Mae Fay and James Alan Anderson…
The year is 1988, and Kim & Jim have just tied the knot. Celebrate with the nuptials at their wedding reception filled with champagne, music, gifts, and the finest fashions of the decade. But keep your eyes and ears open - love is like a battlefield at this gathering of feuding families and grudging guests.
Since the engagement, the wedding fates have not been in favor of Kim & Jim. The Bride’s family - the Fays - are liberal, unconventional, middle-class artists. The Groom’s family - the Andersons - are conservative, privileged, wealthy hotel/resort tycoons. Both sets of parents vehemently oppose the other and make no effort in hiding their contempt for their future in-laws. Add into the mix a cast of jilted friends and ex-lovers, spoiled siblings, and conniving children; and rumors, bribery, secrecy, and more begin to run rampant.
Amidst the toasts, ceremonial dances, and cake-cutting, a wedding party member ends up dead. You will need to help piece together the clues and interrogate the suspects. Will you solve the crime and guess the murderer(s)? Family-friendly, fast-paced, and interactive, this wedding who-dun-it is the perfect entertainment for detectives and theatregoers of all ages.
To Love and to Perish is a comedic murder mystery where “love and marriage” go together like a “hearse and carriage.” The script is an original work created by Director Jessica Bradley in collaboration with the cast and crew through improvisation and ensemble exercises.
