| Dreaming of the stage and the big lights of Broadway? This is the course for you! A fun-filled exciting class all about acting and singing for the musical theatre. This class will explore styles of the 50ís - 60ís musical theatre through musicals of today. Much emphasis will be on musical scenes, the use of "imagingî within the journey of the music, "acting the songî and dialogue. At the end of this 8-week "mini conservatoryî, all students display acquired skills and knowledge in our "Off-Broadwayî performance.

| Students will learn aural-based perspective and then progress to the visual/technical aspects of rhythm including names and values of notes and rests, specific mathematics of rhythm, time signatures and note value identification. Students will be exposed to rhythms of progressing difficulty throughout the duration and will be asked to reproduce the rhythms via clapping, stomping and the use of various instruments. This will not only build their rhythm and tempo skills, but will also give participants an idea of how rhythm and tempo are both united and independent fixtures in music-making.
